Maybe Art Should Be About Something →

November 08, 2017 by Keith Telfeyan in General, Zeitgeist

Art mustn’t directly address the failings of global politics. It’s possible there are smaller lessons in an international art show. Like the Olympics, humanity can shine as a collection of disparate ideas and methods. And with the overlooked and overhyped alike, it’s a nice takeaway message.

Look at the Sky if You Wonder Why →

April 01, 2017 by Keith Telfeyan in General

I breathe, perceive this infinite field of vision and start to see the little cells in my eyes dancing. It’s like a hallucination and my ego vanishes in it. I wonder about the nature of perception and about human limits; I become more aware of my consciousness.

In Praise of Internet →

January 31, 2017 by Keith Telfeyan in General

I think there’s this misconception about the 20th century that without internet-ready handheld devices, strangers were chatting with each other in cafés and on the metro, somehow more in touch with their real selves.

Oh how daily life is!
What it feels like to be you
I hope, whatever you’re doing, you’re stopping now and then, and not doing it at all.
What’s the point?
Architecture of soul
Why is admission of complexity a threat to the cause??
The world is sick. I read so much news and so much in-depth analysis, craving justice and understanding. The new religion of social justice isn’t helping. It’s forcing a victimhood narrative on me, and I don’t want it. I want a truth deeper than left-right politics. I want a spirituality uncorrupted by myth.
What stands in the way becomes the way.
I looked at the city streets and thought of my apartment, and thought of my mind, and how structures take their places perhaps by accident, how things become arranged, and I appreciated the ones that were planned with care, toward some grander design.
I woke up suddenly in a state of odd serenity from a surreal dream, and wished I could go back to sleep.
There’s nothing as satisfying as a sense of understanding in a sea of mystery.
Do you realize
That you have the most beautiful face?
